Timeless and iconic

It’s one of my favorite things to do – design a period show – and this mini series, which spanned five decades from the 20’s to the late 60’s, was a great opportunity and experience. The entire cast and crew were really committed to making it look and feel as authentic as possible, particularly as this family was at the center of American politics and world events for a significant part of the twentieth century.

As one of the most photographed families, we had access to all kinds of reference material and worked hard to ensure that the costumes were as true to the original as possible. This meant that I had to build for many of the principals in order to recreate the looks with accuracy and to help the actors embody the spirit of these iconic individuals.
